Job summary

HP is seeking a Principal Enterprise Architect to translate business strategy into target architectures, transition roadmaps, standards, and investment guidance across business, data, cloud, and AI domains. You will promote reuse and ensure secure, scalable, resilient, and business-aligned solutions.

You will lead architecture for major enterprise initiatives, partner with strategy, product, and engineering leaders, and guide platform teams on enterprise AI platforms and governance.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive technology experience with enterprise architecture in a large global org.
• Experience building target and reference architectures, standards, and multi-year roadmaps.
• Shaping enterprise technology strategy and influencing platform and investment decisions without direct authority.
• Partnering with cloud, data, integration, SaaS, and AI-enabled teams on technology direction.
• Translate business strategy into practical, business-aligned technology guidance.
• Communicate architecture choices clearly to executives and delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and operationalize the enterprise architecture operating model, standards, and measures of value.
• Lead architecture for major initiatives from strategy to transition planning and delivery guidance.
• Develop current-state assessments, target architectures, and multi-year roadmaps for critical capabilities.
• Connect business strategy to technology priorities, portfolio choices, and investment decisions.
• Guide reuse, interoperability, lifecycle management, and debt reduction across a global tech landscape.
• Assess technology choices and recommend patterns, platforms, and long-term direction.
• Maintain reusable architecture assets including principles, standards, and reference architectures.
• Serve on the Architecture Review Board and provide pragmatic guidance without delivery friction.
• Partner with strategy, product, engineering, data, cloud, security, and business tech leaders.
• Influence portfolio planning and clarify dependencies, tradeoffs, and costs.
• Coach architects and strengthen shared practices across organizational boundaries.
• Communicate complex topics clearly to executives, architects, engineers, and delivery teams.
• Guide AI platform direction and guardrails for enterprise AI capabilities.
