Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA, based in Quincy, MA, is seeking an AI/ML Engineer III to build, test, and deploy machine learning models and agentic capabilities within production environments.

This role collaborates with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and MLOps Engineers to scale algorithms and develop enterprise AI solutions, with a flexible hybrid schedule of 3 in-person days and 2 remote days.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in a quantitative field required; equivalent advanced experience may be considered.
• 5+ years of AI/ML engineering experience.
• Expert coding ability in Python and high competency with PySpark.
• Knowledge of API development, model management, code versioning and agile methodologies.
• Understanding of deep learning and generative AI fundamentals.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Expert in distributed computing with Spark, DevOps practices, and containerization.
• Experience with Databricks, Azure ML.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy ML models and agentic capabilities using established architectures and frameworks.
• Support feature engineering, data preprocessing, and experiment design for DS initiatives using A/B testing.
• Build model serving applications using REST microservices; assess options for model serving.
• Assist in developing automated ML training and monitoring pipelines.
• Collaborate with engineering and product partners to refine AI solution requirements.
• Work with internal and external data partners and stay updated on ML/Gen AI trends.
• May be called upon to support critical escalations and urgent IT incidents.
