Job summary

Alation is seeking a Staff Forward Deployed Engineer to turn enterprise problems into AI-driven solutions within our data intelligence platform. You will work at the intersection of technical delivery and customer impact, partnering with Deployment Strategists and Account Executives to ensure implementations deliver measurable business value.

You bring advanced experience in data platforms, AI technologies, and enterprise architecture, applying that expertise with independence across

Qualifications

8+ years in software engineering with customer-facing roles such as Solutions Engineer or FDE.
Hands-on with LLM frameworks and AI tooling, including vector databases and RAG architectures.
Experience delivering BI and data pipeline solutions with SQL and cloud data platforms.

Responsibilities

Design and prototype AI agent systems and agentic workflows within Alation's platform.
Engage with enterprise stakeholders to understand data ecosystems and governance challenges.
Build BI and ML pipelines converting catalogued data into actionable insights and ROI.
Partner with Deployment Strategists to connect technical work to business outcomes.
Contribute to reusable components and accelerators for delivery consistency.
