Job summary

ASR International is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician V to support a Department of Defense robotics and autonomous systems program in Fort Irwin, CA. The role involves planning and executing limited-scope projects and providing technical guidance to junior staff.

Responsibilities include system integration, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and collaboration with Government and contractor teams to resolve technical issues while maintaining mission readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; associate degree with extensive technical training acceptable.
• Minimum 8–10 years of progressive engineering support experience.
• Ability to plan and conduct complete projects or significant portions of larger, diverse projects.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.
• Active Secret clearance required.
• Pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex, non-routine engineering support assignments involving planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a defined portion of a larger, more diverse project.
• Select, adapt, and apply plans, techniques, designs, layouts, procedures, and technical approaches to meet project, program, and mission requirements.
• Support system integration, testing, troubleshooting, sustainment, and technical evaluation of robotic, autonomous, unmanned, and related technical systems.
• Coordinate with engineering, logistics, maintenance, program, Government, contractor, and related technical personnel to resolve problems and support cross-functional work execution.
• Review, analyze, and integrate technical work performed by other team members to ensure completeness, consistency, technical adequacy, and alignment with requirements.
• Execute work with a high degree of independence after objectives, requirements, and design approaches are outlined by a supervisor or professional engineer.
• Conduct technical research, field data collection, testing support, documentation review, and corrective action tracking as required.
• Prepare technical documentation, test records, status updates, engineering notes, reports, and other program materials to support customer reviews and contract deliverables.
• Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians as appropriate.
