Job summary

University of Texas at Austin seeks a Senior Engineering Scientist for the Center for Transportation Research, focusing on continuously reinforced concrete pavements, structural design, materials performance, and durability testing at the Pickle Research Campus.

The role leads research, supports TxDOT projects, and develops training and certification programs. Immediate start; Exempt, 40 hours weekly, on-site at Pickle Research Campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• Ten (10 ) years of related experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in concrete pavement design, construction, and maintenance
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in concrete materials and durability testing
• Experience with managing concrete testing laboratory operations and laboratory accreditation programs
• Experience with developing, conducting, and managing training and testing certification programs
• Prior experience working with the Texas Department of Transportation.

Responsibilities

• Research: Conduct research on funded projects in concrete pavement and materials engineering and durability testing; produce project reports or deliverables.
• Concrete Pavement Construction Support: Provide technical assistance to TxDOT staff; conduct field visits and document methods; evaluate repairs.
• Training: Develop, conduct, and manage training programs for concrete materials testing and certification; train students.
