Job summary

The Municipality of Anchorage is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer with leadership skills to supervise the Engineering and Planning Division within Solid Waste Services. The Project Manager will oversee large design and construction projects, coordinating with stakeholders and agencies to ensure environmental compliance and successful delivery.

Applicants must hold a Alaska PE license, have extensive capital project management experience, and pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• Eight years of progressively responsible engineering experience.
• Two years of which must have involved managing construction of large capital projects.
• Valid State of Alaska Professional Engineer license at time of hire.
• Satisfactory background check including criminal, education, and employment history.

Responsibilities

• Supervises activities of the Engineering and Planning Division.
• Serves as the Department’s Project Manager for large design and construction projects (over $100 Million).
• Coordinate with stakeholders, public advocacy groups, state and federal agencies, and other Municipal departments on projects.
