Job summary

The Municipality of Anchorage is seeking a Civil Engineer in the Development Services department to perform professional engineering reviews of road design and drainage plans and coordinate with private developers. The role includes evaluating subdivision agreements, attending pre-construction meetings, and inspecting sites to ensure compliance with standards.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, 5 years of experience, Alaska PE license, and a valid Alaska driver’s license;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible engineering experience.
• Master's degree in Engineering may substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
• State of Alaska driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Must be registered in the State of Alaska as a Professional Engineer in Civil Engineering or other appropriate engineering discipline.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional engineering reviews and coordinate reviews of construction plans and specifications submitted by private development contractors for road design and drainage.
• Aid in the preparation of subdivision agreements and bond documents.
• Attend project pre-application and pre-construction meetings; participate in site visits and inspections.
• Investigate and respond to road and drainage-related inquiries and complaints; review related permits and plans.
