Job summary

The Municipality of Anchorage is seeking a Project Engineer in the Project Management & Engineering department to design and prepare plans and construction documents for MOA street, drainage, site and water quality projects using AutoCAD. The role includes scoping, planning, design, and preparing bid proposals with detailed cost estimates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, architectural, environmental, electrical, geomatics or related field plus 4 years professional engineering or land surveying experience.
• Or an Associate’s degree plus 6 years professional engineering or land surveying experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and prepare plans and construction documents for MOA streets, drainage, site and water quality projects using AutoCAD.
• Coordinate survey, soils, permitting, traffic, utilities, and right-of-way considerations in design.
• Prepare bid proposals and detailed cost estimates; stamp final construction documents.
• Perform soil mechanics, hydrology, hydraulics studies and life/safety evaluations; oversee design coordination.
