Job summary

Matrix PDM Engineering seeks a Project Manager to direct multiple engineering projects of moderate risk and scope across disciplines. The role requires independent work under policy, mentoring of junior PMs, and active participation in identifying new business opportunities for the client base and geographic area.

Responsibilities include leading project planning, ensuring delivery on time and within budget, and coordinating with clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

• 4 year degree in Mechanical, Civil or Industrial Engineering, or Construction Management; or combination of equivalent education and 10 years job-related experience if no degree.
• 8+ years job-related experience, PMI PM certification preferred; includes 4+ supervisory experience.
• PMI certification from PMI preferred.
• Strong understanding of corporate and industry practices and their impact on project activities.
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; good negotiation skills.
• Strong knowledge of construction, design, finance and project management.
• Excellent computer skills including MS Word and Excel.
• Proven ability to manage projects to meet time, budget and quality targets.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall direction and manage multiple engineering projects of moderate risk and complexity.
• Initiate and maintain liaison with clients to facilitate engineering and construction activities.
• Represent the company at meetings and oversee estimates, proposals and contracting.
• Plan, organize and staff key positions; supervise project delivery to design, budget and schedule.
• Monitor financial aspects and ensure timely billings and collections; maintain client relationships.
• Develop new business opportunities related to clients or geographic areas.
