Job summary

Matrix PDM Engineering is seeking an experienced Project Manager to direct multiple engineering projects with moderate risk and complexity. You will guide cross-functional teams, manage scope and schedule, and pursue new business opportunities across client groups and regions.

The role requires 8+ years of PM experience, P&L accountability, and strong leadership. Travel to client sites and meetings may be required as part of project delivery.

Qualifications

• 4 year degree in Mechanical, Civil or Industrial Engineering, or Construction Management; or combination of equivalent education and 10 years job-related experience if no degree.
• 8+ years job-related experience, PM/P&L preferred; includes 4+ supervisory experience
• PMI certification preferred
• Strong understanding of corporate and industry practices and their impact on project activities
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication; good negotiation skills
• Strong knowledge of construction, design, finance and project management
• Excellent computer skills including MS Word and Excel
• Proven track record of bringing projects in on time, on schedule, within budget, and safely
• Ability to manage heavy workloads with time-sensitive deadlines and prioritize multiple projects

Responsibilities

• Provide overall direction and manage multiple engineering projects of moderate risk, scope and complexity.
• Develop new business opportunities relative to clients or geographic areas.
• Initiate and maintain client liaison to facilitate engineering and construction activities.
• Represent the company at bid, project and strategy meetings as applicable.
• Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards.
• Plan, organize and staff key positions through managers and department heads.
• Supervise engineering to ensure delivery within design, budget and schedule.
• Provide technical assistance and recommend construction methods; issue change orders.
• Manage profit/loss accountability and financial aspects of contracts; ensure billings and collections are current.
• Develop new business opportunities for clients or geographic areas.
