Job summary

YO AI Labs seeks an experienced Engineering Technical Problem Author to craft and evaluate advanced engineering problems for AI systems. You will assess AI-generated solutions for rigor, accuracy, and relevance across Aerodynamics, CAD/Mechanical Design, and related fields.

You will apply solid engineering judgment to real-world design challenges, guide problem statements, and provide structured feedback to improve AI reasoning. Remote collaboration and independent work are essential.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in a relevant engineering discipline or substantial professional industry experience.
• At least 5 years of hands-on technical experience in a relevant engineering field; deeper experience preferred for Aerodynamics, Circuit Design, and Mechanical Engineering roles.
• Experience creating technically rigorous problems, e.g., through academic examinations, engineering competitions, licensure exams, standards committees, or technical assessment programs.
• Experience with technical publications, patents, industry awards, competition results, committee participation, or other evidence of recognized technical expertise.
• Professional-level English proficiency with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with industry-standard engineering tools such as AutoCAD, CAD software, CFD/FEA platforms, EDA tools, simulation software, or laboratory equipment.
• Ability to work independently and remotely while delivering high-quality technical content within deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Author and evaluate advanced technical problems across Aerodynamics, Materials Science, CAD/Mechanical Design, Mechanical Engineering, Circuit Design, and related disciplines.
• Review AI-generated technical responses for correctness, engineering accuracy, and practical relevance.
• Apply engineering judgment to real-world design, analysis, troubleshooting, and failure scenarios as well as theoretical contexts.
• Analyze complex technical issues, identify ambiguities, and recommend clarifications to problem statements and assumptions.
• Develop technically rigorous problems that test analytical reasoning, calculations, and design judgment.
• Provide structured written feedback and clear explanations to improve AI-generated technical reasoning.
• Collaborate remotely with technical experts and project participants to maintain high-quality deliverables.
• Document technical insights, weaknesses, and recommendations to support AI model improvement.
