Job summary

MacKay seeks an Engineering Project Manager in San Diego, CA, to lead multi-year environmental projects from initiation to completion. You will oversee scope, budgeting, staffing, and delivery while directing design and QA/QC for water, wastewater, and groundwater infrastructure. A P.E.

license and strong client relations are required. You’ll mentor engineers, collaborate across disciplines, and contribute to proposals and continuous improvements in project delivery and workflows in a hybrid

Qualifications

• 10+ years in soil/groundwater remediation, water, wastewater, vapor intrusion, and stormwater project design
• Design experience on groundwater or wastewater treatment systems
• At least two years of project management experience
• California P.E. license or reciprocity within a reasonable time frame
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Civil Engineering
• Ability to establish and maintain stakeholder relationships
• Ability to learn and adapt
• Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects from initiation through completion with scope, planning, scheduling, budgeting, staffing, invoicing, and delivery.
• Direct engineering design, analysis, and preparation of studies, reports, and construction documents.
• Oversee QA/QC and ensure regulatory compliance across project delivery.
• Serve as primary client contact and manage stakeholders.
• Mentor and lead Project Engineers and staff across disciplines.
• Support proposals, backlog planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
