Job summary

MacKay is seeking an Engineering Construction Project Manager – Water Facilities to lead multi-year CIP projects in Chicago, IL. This role will oversee construction management for water infrastructure including purification plants, pumping stations, and hydraulic structures within the DWM program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural/mechanical engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education.
• Demonstrate interpersonal skills, including client interaction, public speaking, and persuasive ability.
• Strong project financial management and ability to lead diverse, multi-disciplined teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Construction Manager for DWM CIP water facilities projects and oversee multi-disciplinary improvements.
• Manage project teams and monitor consultants’ contractual commitments.
• Oversee hiring of Resident Engineer and field inspector; ensure work aligns with contract documents and budgets.
• Coordinate with the client and design team; monitor schedules, risks, and scope changes.
• Supervise other engineering and technical staff and support field operations as needed.
