Job summary

MacKay is seeking an Associate or Project Hydrogeologist to join the Engineering Analytics team in San Diego, CA. The role blends office and field work on multi-year environmental projects for aerospace, defense, and industrial clients, with level and pay commensurate with experience.

You’ll contribute to conceptual models, field programs, data interpretation, and reporting while collaborating with experienced colleagues in a flexible hybrid environment designed to support professional growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in geology, hydrogeology, engineering geology, or related environmental science.
• GIT certification or ability to obtain reciprocity.
• 2–5 years experience; minimum 1 year field experience.
• Proficient in Excel; GIS data management experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual models and support fate/transport modeling.
• Participate in and lead field programs (well installation, aquifer testing, sampling).
• Evaluate remedial alternatives and data interpretation.
• Coordinate with labs and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Prepare cost estimates, specifications, and reports.
