Job summary

The Planet Group seeks a Senior Engineering Manager – Owner's Representative to lead engineering efforts on major pharma and life sciences capital projects. Remote options in Eastern or Central Time, travel 25–50% to sites in Alabama and Virginia.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive engineering experience in pharma/biotech capital construction projects.
• Experience as Engineering Manager or Owner's Representative on large projects.
• Strong understanding of cGMP requirements and pharmaceutical facilities.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and external consultants.
• Familiarity with EPC/EPCM or design-build delivery models.
• Remote work capability within Eastern or Central time zones and travel 25–50%.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering leadership across multiple disciplines.
• Oversee external engineering consultants, design firms, contractors and vendors.
• Establish engineering execution strategies, design review processes and technical requirements.
• Ensure activities align with scope, budget, schedule, safety and quality.
• Coordinate engineering decisions among internal and external partners and construction teams.
• Oversee design through conceptual to commissioning and validation phases.
• Support project governance and reporting to senior leadership.
