Job summary

RTX Collins Aerospace seeks a Senior Engineering Manager in Cedar Rapids to lead a 10-14 engineer team, driving R&D in microelectronics and overseeing project execution across cost, schedule, quality, and manufacturability.

You will partner with customers and program leadership, shape technology roadmaps, and mentor engineers while traveling up to 15%. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance are required. Relocation support is available for onsite Cedar Rapids employment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 10+ years of experience or an Advanced Degree with 7+ years of experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance
• U.S. citizenship required for security clearance eligibility
• Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing engineering teams
• Experience with U.S. Government programs, including proposal and capture processes
• Strong systems engineering background across product development lifecycle

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 10-14 engineers, including hiring and performance management
• Drive R&D in advanced microelectronics technologies and oversee project execution
• Partner with customers, program leadership, and cross-functional teams to transition technologies
• Shape technology strategy by identifying IR&D investments and roadmaps
• Provide technical leadership in microelectronics (processor, RF/analog, open systems, secure microelectronics)
• Travel up to 15% domestically and internationally
