Job summary
Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for IT Infrastructure and Simulation, onsite in Sterling, VA. Lead a team of software engineers delivering secure, high‑fidelity modeling, simulation, and training solutions within a classified lab environment.
You will oversee lifecycle activities from bids through verification, while driving DevSecOps discipline and cyber engineering practices across programs. Candidates must hold active U.S. secret clearance and citizenship.
Qualifications
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued secret security clearance required before start.
- U.S. citizenship required; dual citizenship not permitted for access to program.
- Experience building teams and managing projects in software development for aerospace/defense.
- Familiarity with agile, SAFe, and other lifecycle methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Build and lead a 10–20 software engineers team; foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Oversee full software lifecycle for special access programs from bids to delivery.
- Drive design and continuous improvement of DevSecOps and Cyber Engineering practices.
- Provide technical leadership and direction to the software infrastructure team.
- Ensure resource allocation aligns with program needs and priorities.
- Mentor engineers and develop staff career growth within RTX Collins Aerospace.
- Communicate updates to leadership and cross‑functional teams.
