Job summary

IBM Software seeks a hands-on Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Experience Foundations team. You will guide UI engineers across Governance, Flink, Kafka, Connect, and Tableflow, shaping patterns, architecture, and dev tooling to deliver secure and scalable UI experiences.

You will collaborate with Product and Design, mentor engineers, and drive the evolution of the foundations infrastructure to support the entire Experience organization while maintaining a bias for delivery excellence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience leading software engineering teams.
• Strong hands-on frontend background with deep understanding of modern web development.
• Proven ability to distill complex domains into reusable patterns and best practices.
• Experience partnering with Product and Design to drive execution.
• Experience managing or collaborating closely with other engineering managers.

Responsibilities

• Establish reusable patterns and best practices for UI engineers developing security and networking code.
• Elevate impact of UI engineers across multiple product teams (Governance, Flink, Kafka, Connect, Tableflow).
• Take a depth-first, hands-on approach to understand systems and unblock teams.
• Drive evolution of Experience Foundations infrastructure to support the broader organization.
• Foster cross-functional partnerships with PM and Design and translate domain complexity into actionable plans.
• Mentor and develop engineers across multiple disciplines and levels.
