Job summary

Metis Strategy is seeking a senior Engineering Manager to lead engineers delivering data and AI systems for Fortune 500 and Global 1000 clients. You will manage delivery lifecycles, architect solutions, and build a scalable engineering practice in a remote, Pacific Time zone environment.

You will hire and mentor engineers, set technical standards, and collaborate with client and executive stakeholders to turn business requirements into actionable technical plans.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of software or data engineering experience with 2–3 years managing engineers
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Proven track record of hiring, developing, and managing engineering teams on complex projects
• Location within Pacific time zone; most work is remote with quarterly in-person offsites

Responsibilities

• Lead one or more engineering teams through client engagements to deliver data and AI systems
• Own technical design decisions, architecture, and delivery lifecycle
• Hire, coach, and grow engineers; set technical standards and mentorship
• Partner with client tech leaders and translate business requirements into technical plans
• Ensure code quality, testing, CI/CD, observability, and documentation
