Job summary

Attentive, an AI marketing platform, seeks a senior data leader to own the technical vision for the Data and Event team. You will design and implement high-throughput data solutions and partner with AI/ML, analytics, and platform teams to scale our self-service data platform.

This 100% remote role requires 7+ years in data engineering, cloud expertise (AWS/GCP/Azure), and a track record mentoring engineers while balancing multiple projects and technical debt.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software/data engineering leading large-scale data systems.
• Experience with backend or data engineering using Java, Python, or Go.
• Experience architecting production data models and pipelines (SQL/NoSQL).
• Experience with distributed data processing and storage technologies.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerized architectures.
• 3 years establishing data quality, governance, or integration standards.
• 3 years collaborating with analytics, AI/ML, and platform teams.
• 3 years managing or mentoring engineering teams.
• 3 years prioritizing multiple projects and managing technical debt.
• 2 years using AI/ML frameworks (Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch).

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical vision for the Data and Event team.
• Oversee design and implementation of high-throughput data solutions.
• Partner with AI/ML, analytics, and platform teams to expand self-service data platform.
• Establish and uphold data quality, governance, and system integration.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team.
• Balance multiple projects and ensure timely delivery.
• Manage technical debt and long-term architecture decisions.
• Position is 100% remote; must reside in US; reports to HQ.
