Job summary

Target Corp seeks a Senior Engineering Manager for Core Platform Services to lead a diverse team of platform, full-stack, and AI engineers building scalable, production‑grade services. You will drive the product roadmap, own reliability, and collaborate with product managers to deliver impactful solutions.

You will partner with senior engineers to scale Action Center and agentic remediation, ensuring adoption and operational excellence across Target’s enterprise platforms.

Qualifications

• 4 year degree or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of engineering (software development) experience.
• 1-3 years of managing teams with a strong track record of delivery for cross-functional product experience with Cloud hosting.
• Coaching engineers on architecture and modern engineering practices.
• Building and operating internal platforms, developer tooling, or shared services.
• Designing and deploying scalable APIs and multi-tenant environments.
• Applying LLMs or agentic AI to real engineering workflows, including guardrails.
• Instrumenting products with metrics, logs, and traces to be observable by default.

Responsibilities

• Lead a high-performing team of platform, full-stack, and AI engineers.
• Deliver a growing set of common services with high availability and multi-tenant support.
• Partner with Product Manager to define roadmap and adoption targets.
• Drive builder experience as a product, reducing friction and manual work across platforms.
• Evolve AI-enabled workflows while maintaining review and safety standards.
• Ensure 24x7 operations with strong incident management and reliability practices.
• Represent the team in cross-domain architecture and enterprise planning forums.
