Job summary

BuildOps in San Francisco, CA, is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for the Integration Platform. You will architect, build, and optimize the data and integration platform powering our AI-native ecosystem, while staying hands-on where it matters most.

You will lead multiple teams, shape technical strategy, mentor engineers, and drive operational excellence with a focus on reliability, scalability, and developer experience.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership of large technical initiatives.
• Experience with workflows and data platforms, with strong data integrity and reliability.
• Deep experience with Node.js, GraphQL, RESTful services, PostgreSQL, and Temporal in production systems.
• Strong proficiency with SQL databases and query optimization.
• Experience with event-driven systems and real-time data processing.
• CI/CD, automated testing, and scalable deployment practices.
• Proven track record of mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence.
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills for cross-functional alignment.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain the integration and data platform powering AI-native integrations.
• Lead architectural decisions across the stack for performance and scalability.
• Design and optimize APIs and service patterns for product and third-party integrations.
• Improve database design and data models for efficient storage and retrieval at scale.
• Drive observability, monitoring, and operational excellence across services.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.
• Influence multiple engineering groups through leadership and collaboration.
• Evaluate new technologies and tooling to improve platform quality.
• Define robust testing practices in partnership with QA and engineering teams.
