Job summary

JPMorganChase in Jersey City seeks a Senior Manager of Software Engineering to mentor multiple teams, drive AI-assisted development, and influence budget and technical decisions across the firm’s Experience Tech Web App initiatives.

You will guide back-end and front-end engineers, architect scalable microservices, and ensure secure, resilient delivery with modern SDLC practices in a banking environment.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience software engineering, including system design, application development, testing, and operational support.
• 2+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.
• Experience leading multi-team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and delivery tools, including governance and quality gates.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of engineers across tasks of varying complexity
• Influence budget, resources, and execution of processes and procedures
• Set operating practices for AI-assisted engineering and SDLC/TLM automation across teams to improve delivery speed and reliability
• Drive reuse of firm technology assets and secure handling of sensitive inputs/outputs
• Collaborate across teams and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery
• Identify and mitigate issues to maintain a focused book of work and escalate as needed
• Provide input to leadership on budget, approach, and technical considerations
