Job summary

Domtar Hawesville, KY is seeking an Engineering & Maintenance Manager to lead the Maintenance, Reliability, IT and Engineering Teams and to develop strategies that improve asset reliability and operational performance.

You will manage budgets, oversee capital projects, and drive the implementation of preventive, predictive and reliable manufacturing processes while ensuring safety and cost efficiency across the mill.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience leading maintenance and reliability in an industrial environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Experience implementing & optimizing reliability maintenance systems and processes.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and facility systems.
• Excellent leadership and coaching abilities with teamwork focus.
• Experience developing and managing budgets to maximize asset reliability.
• Demonstrated planning, organizing and problem-solving skills with multiple priorities.
• Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Experience with Root Cause Analysis tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• The Engineering and Maintenance Manager will provide strategic leadership to the Maintenance, Reliability, IT and Engineering Teams.
• Develop strategies for improving asset reliability and achieving targets.
• Lead maintenance, reliability and engineering activities to ensure maximum equipment reliability.
• Oversee cost control and capital project portfolio, with budgeted variances explained and corrective action.
• Lead preventive, predictive and reliable manufacturing processes.
• Drive continuous improvement through One Domtar Standards and KPI tracking.
• Manage CMMS, spare parts inventory and MRO to minimize downtime and costs.
• Perform root cause analyses on asset failures and implement corrective actions.
• Be accountable for all mill asset outcomes and change initiatives.
