Job summary

JLL is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the on-site engineering team at a Sunnyvale facility. The role combines technical expertise with strong management to ensure safe, efficient operation of infrastructure and manufacturing-support systems.

Responsibilities include mentoring staff, overseeing maintenance, budgeting, and coordinating with clients and property teams. A robust background in industrial maintenance and HVAC/electrical systems is preferred.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of related engineering management experience.
• Proven people management capabilities in a facilities/industrial setting.
• Universal CFC EPA certification required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the engineering team, including hiring, training, coaching, and personal development.
• Oversee maintenance tasks for facility infrastructure and production equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and pneumatic issues in machines and equipment.
• Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance procedures.
• Manage engineering budget and participate in overall operating budget process.
• Assist in developing capital improvement plans.
• Select, schedule, and supervise contractors, monitoring their performance.
• Respond effectively to emergencies and service calls.
• Lead technical, safety, and operational process training programs.
• Participate in client-facing and property team communications.
• Demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills.
