Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking an experienced Director of Engineering for a premier Louisville convention hotel with 500+ rooms and extensive meeting space. Lead engineering and maintenance operations, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and drive preventive maintenance programs across guestrooms, public areas, and F&B outlets.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of leadership in hotel engineering, strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems, plus a track

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressive engineering/maintenance experience.
• Previous engineering leadership/management experience.
• Experience with 500+ guest rooms; large convention hotel experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
• Experience managing preventive maintenance programs.
• Capital project and renovation experience.
• Strong knowledge of fire/life-safety systems, building codes, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience leading and developing a large engineering team.
• Strong budgeting, vendor, and contractor management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all Engineering and Maintenance operations for the property.
• Develop and manage a comprehensive preventive maintenance program.
• Ensure guestrooms, meeting spaces, public areas, F&B outlets, and back-of-house areas are properly maintained.
• Lead, coach, and develop the Engineering team while maintaining accountability and productivity.
• Manage engineering budgets, capital projects, contractors, and vendors.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and building regulations.
• Respond to emergency maintenance and building-system issues.
• Partner with hotel leadership and other departments to ensure a safe, well-maintained property and exceptional guest experience.
