Job summary

Pickett, an ESP Associates company, is seeking a Senior Engineer in Ann Arbor, MI, with HV/EHV transmission design expertise. The role involves line routing, PLS-CADD modeling, structure and foundation design, and coordination with clients and teams.

The ideal candidate will have a PE license, a Bachelor's in Engineering, and 8+ years of related experience in the electric utility industry, with a strong focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• PE certification is required.
• 8+ years of related transmission line engineering experience.
• Experience using PLS-CADD for transmission lines.
• Knowledge of NESC, IEEE, ASCE, and ACI standards.
• Experience liaising with substations, environmental, ROW stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead senior engineering tasks on HV/EHV transmission design projects.
• Oversee line routing, survey coordination, and plan/profile development.
• Review design work with clients and conduct design reviews.
• Mentor and train other engineers on the team.
• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and construction teams.

AbouttheRole:

As a Senior Engineer, you will provide senior level engineering/technical expertise on complex electric transmission design projects for high-voltage (HV) and extra high-voltage (EHV) overhead utility systems.

Specifically, the position manages, prepares, reviews and/or provides guidance for line routing, survey coordination, PLS-CADD modeling, structure design, foundation design, clearance checks, plan/profile development, material specification and procurement, constructability evaluations, work order package preparation, permitting, vendor/subcontractor coordination and construction support.
