Job summary

Pickett, an ESP Associates company, seeks a Lead Engineer to provide leadership and senior-level engineering on complex HV and EHV transmission projects. The role is hybrid in Ann Arbor, MI, guiding design, schedules, and client requirements.

You will manage line routing, PLS-CADD modeling, structure and foundation design, and coordination with stakeholders while mentoring a team to deliver high-quality, on-time results.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) certification is required.
• 10+ years of transmission line engineering experience.
• Extensive experience using PLS-CADD.
• Experience with PLS-TOWER is preferred.
• Experience with design codes: NESC, IEEE, ASCE, ACI.
• Experience liaising with substation, environmental, real estate, construction, and maintenance stakeholders.
• Strong project management skills and experience.
• Ability to work in a safe manner and follow safety regulations.
• Leadership and mentorship abilities.
• Collaborative with team members and peers in the electrical utility industry.
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication.

AbouttheRole:

As a Lead Engineer, you will provide leadership and senior-level engineering/technicalexpertiseoncomplexelectrictransmissiondesignprojectsforhigh-voltage(HV)andextrahigh-voltage(EHV)overheadutilitysystems.

Some of the main responsibilities will be to ensure the team is meeting client requirements,both quality and schedule deadlines as well as ensuring the team is engaged and their inputis valued. We want to inspire our team members to produce at the level of excellence forwhichPickett isknown.

This role will require you to be hands-on and manage, prepare, review, and/or provideguidance for line routing, survey coordination, PLS-CADD modeling, structure design,foundation design, clearance checks, plan/profile development, material specification andprocurement, constructability evaluations, work order package preparation, permitting,vendor/subcontractorcoordination, and construction support.

• Effective business and technical communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
