Job summary

Pickett, an ESP Associates company, seeks a Senior Engineer to provide expert technical leadership on HV/EHV transmission design projects across the US and Caribbean. You will manage line routing, PLS-CADD modeling, foundation design, permits, and vendor coordination while guiding project teams to successful outcomes.

We expect at least 8 years of related experience, PE certification, and a strong track record with NESC/IEEE/ASCE/ACI.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Engineering required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification required
  • 8+ years of transmission line engineering experience in electric utility
  • Experience using PLS-CADD for transmission line design
  • Strong knowledge of design codes and standards (NESC, IEEE, ASCE, ACI)
  • Experience liaising with substation, environmental, ROW stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability in applying engineering theories and presenting recommendations
  • Ability to work safely and be self-starting in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Passing drug screen, background check, and valid driving record

About The Role:

As a Senior Engineer, you will provide senior level engineering/technical expertise on complex electric transmission design projects for high-voltage (HV) and extra high-voltage (EHV) overhead utility systems.

Specifically, the position manages, prepares, reviews and/or provides guidance for line routing, survey coordination, PLS-CADD modeling, structure design, foundation design, clearance checks, plan/profile development, material specification and procurement, constructability evaluations, work order package preparation, permitting, vendor/subcontractor coordination and construction support.

What You Bring:
  • Bachelor's in Engineering (required)

  • Ability to work in a safe manner and always obey safety regulations
  • Ability to be a self-starter and thrive in an unstructured, varied and deadline driven work environment
  • Strong ability to collaborate with team members as well as peers in the electrical utility industry
  • Effective communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
  • Demonstrated verbal and technical writing skills
  • Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy
