Job summary

Exelon is seeking an experienced Transmission & Substation (T&S) Standards Engineer to maintain and develop engineering practices and design standards for high voltage assets. You will work across teams to update material specifications and drawings, ensuring safe, cost-effective designs and reliable operation.

Your role includes technical leadership, collaboration with vendors, and mentoring others while interfacing with industry groups to drive improvements in standards and practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or PE license.
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of applicable standards, codes, methods, and practices.
• 7+ years of professional engineering experience.
• Ability to lead multi-discipline teams and apply advanced engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Serves as SME for the T&S Standards including engineering practices, material specifications and drawings.
• Point of contact for technical questions related to material design and standards.
• Collaborates with vendors and multiple engineering groups to set design standards and ensure safety and constructability.
• Lead assignments and mentor others; provide recommendations to management for reliability improvements.
• Interface with IEEE, EPRI, EEI, MEA and other groups to introduce design improvements.
