Job summary

Eversource Energy is seeking a Senior Engineer to support Transmission and Distribution substation equipment with field and office work. The role covers design, analysis, testing, and integration of online monitoring technologies, collaborating across engineering, operations, and with external vendors to ensure asset reliability and data integrity.

Requirements include a bachelor’s in engineering, 5 years of relevant experience, and ability to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• BSEE degree preferred.
• Five years related experience is required for the senior engineer level.
• Willingness to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
• Must be available for emergency restoration assignments.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for Transmission and Distribution substation equipment, including transformers, breakers, switches, and other equipment supporting system operations and maintenance.
• Provide technical support for new and existing projects for the integration of online monitoring systems into substation assets.
• Review and evaluate test reports and provide technical engineering guidance for substation battery systems.
• Administration of oil sampling, testing, and analysis program(s) including PO development, invoicing, and resource tracking.
• Ensure all analyses, reports, and data tracking are completed with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Interface with internal customers and external vendors on analysis results and data issues.
• Assist with emergency oil analysis equipment and procedures during substation emergencies.
• Contribute to strategy and technical basis for emergent maintenance or replacement of assets.
• Produce customized reports on substation equipment for customers and management.
• Receive and respond to inquiries from stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Station Operations to ensure consistency and teamwork.
• Lead special assignments and participate in storm restoration and emergency duties.
