Job summary

City of Coronado is seeking a Senior Engineer to oversee civil engineering projects, focusing on capital improvement delivery and quality control. The role requires strong project management, communication, and mentoring of staff and consultants.

Under general direction, you will lead designs for transportation, water resources, and related infrastructure, while ensuring safety, compliance, and high service levels for the community.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of professional civil engineering experience.
• Experience leading staff and/or supervising projects is desirable.
• Licensed Professional Civil Engineer in California.

Responsibilities

• Lead, oversee, and manage civil engineering projects including buildings, streets, and transportation systems.
• Ensure design and construction work adheres to professional engineering standards.
• Provide complex administrative support to the Principal Engineer, Assistant Director, and Director.
