The City of Coronado is seeking an Assistant Director of Public Services and Engineering to lead day-to-day operations of the department, including managing capital projects, land development review, and permitting. You will guide staff, supervise engineering and public works functions, and coordinate with consultants and other city departments to deliver critical infrastructure improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field; master’s degree desirable.
• Bachelor’s degree in public administration or business administration optional.
• CA Driver’s License and professional engineering registration required.

Responsabilités

• Assist in managing department services and activities including CIP, permitting, traffic engineering, and utilities.
• Develop and implement department goals, policies, and priorities.
• Oversee budget, staffing levels, bids, contracts, and performance improvements.
• Coordinate schedules, bidding, and council bid approvals; monitor contracts for compliance.
• Provide staff guidance, training, and performance evaluations; respond to inquiries.
