Job summary

City of Coronado is seeking an Assistant Director of Public Services and Engineering to lead day-to-day operations and oversee capital improvement programs for the city.

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s in civil engineering, have seven+ years in public works/engineering leadership, a California PE license, and a proven track record in project delivery, budgeting, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years directing civil engineering projects/programs; two (2) years supervisory experience.
• At least seven (7) years administering and managing public services or works programs with leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director in managing department services and activities including Capital Improvement Program and land development review.
• Coordinate bidding procedures and contract management; monitor permits and construction projects.
