Job summary

ComEd in Illinois seeks a Senior Engineer to lead planning, design, and execution of projects across electric distribution, transmission, substations, and related systems.

You will mentor junior engineers, oversee complex studies, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure safety and reliability while engaging stakeholders and coordinating cross-functional teams. Extended hours may be required during storms or energy delivery emergencies.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering; PE license preferred.
• 7+ years of professional engineering experience.
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of applicable standards, codes, methods and practices.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Leads and performs assignments requiring extensive engineering expertise.
• Leads engineering tasks on complex projects with field testing and troubleshooting.
• Evaluates and resolves complex technical issues with specialized knowledge.
• Plans, writes and delivers documentation and project plans.
• Provides technical training and mentorship to others.
