Job summary

Exelon is seeking a Senior Engineer - Substation Engineering to design and expand ComEd’s substation infrastructure, driving reliability and capacity to meet load growth. You will translate forecasted demand into scalable projects, guide technical decisions, and mentor teammates while maintaining industry standards.

Extended hours may be required during storms; collaboration across engineering, operations, and planning ensures safe, efficient project execution from design through commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or PE license.
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of standards, codes, and practices.
• 7+ years of professional engineering experience.
• Ability to apply advanced engineering principles.
• Three related career experiences or equivalent.
• PE license or advanced degree reduces experience requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering tasks on complex power system projects with field/troubleshooting elements.
• Develop planning, design, procurement, and construction support plans; manage documentation deliverables.
• Attend meetings, monitor performance, and provide budget input for project success.
• Lead multi-discipline teams and oversee contractors as needed.
• Mentor team members and drive adoption of new technologies and standards.
