As the Facilities Engineering expert for the site, the Senior Facilities Engineer will manage and support multiple complex capital and improvement projects related to plant infrastructure, clean rooms, and utility systems. This role is responsible for providing Facilities capacity inputs for the facility master plan and leading the design and specification of new Facilities equipment. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with EHS standards, Standard Operating Procedures, and cGMP, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and delivering exceptional customer service and effective communication.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Foster a mindset of continuous improvement and customer service, demonstrating accountability and rewarding positive behaviors.
  • Lead improvement projects, ensuring compliance with site procedures, local laws, and Quality and EHS regulations.
  • Provide timely progress updates to customers and stakeholders on facilities-related projects.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to optimize and improve facilities processes and equipment, utilizing engineering methods (e.g., Six Sigma and LEAN) and technical design skills.
  • Analyze and resolve complex manufacturing and compliance issues (e.g., CAPA, non-conformances, audit observations) related to Facilities equipment and infrastructure.
  • Establish and maintain a facilities equipment and systems maintenance program.
  • Plan and execute capital projects in accordance with Quality Compliance and EHS procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare business cases for capital projects.
  • Track plant utilities usage (e.g., electrical, compressed air) and Facilities needs (e.g., space) and provide projections with sound engineering inputs for the facility master plan.
  • Develop URS, scope of facilities, and P&IDs.
  • Provide Facilities engineering input in the design and specification of new equipment, facilities, and services.
  • Manage the total lifecycle of facilities-related equipment, including planning lifecycle replacements for utilities, clean rooms, and facilities systems.
  • Collaborate with purchasing to manage equipment and services requisitions (RFP/RFQ).
  • Manage engineering design and commissioning services.
  • Oversee and manage construction qualification, commissioning, installation qualification, and support operational qualification/validation activities as applicable.
  • Ensure project turnover packages documentation, including drawing updates.
  • Track and maintain projects in the Clarizen project management tool.
  • Embrace opportunities to take on diverse and exciting tasks as they arise, including incidental duties as assigned by leadership.

What you'll need (Required):

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field with 4 years of previous related experience
  • Technical knowledge of Facilities Engineering / Utilities and substantial engineering experience in electrical and mechanical systems

What else we look for (Preferred):

  • Experience working in a regulated industry, medical device or pharmaceutical industry highly preferred
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience working and managing Construction Projects
  • Proven expertise in usage of MS Office Suite including MS Project; CAD experience
  • Strong communication and interaction across all Plant organizational levels.
  • Drive improvement projects with a keen attention to detail.
  • Efficient contractor management with clear quality and timeliness expectations.
  • Commitment to exceptional service and effective communication.
  • Proficient in project management, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Proficiency and adherence to Environmental Health and Safety and Quality guidelines.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Team-oriented with experience in campus set-up projects.
  • Skilled in offering sound solutions to technical problems.
  • Preferred experience in the medical device industry.
  • Knowledge of applicable FDA regulations for the medical device industry
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Preferred experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated industries.
