Job summary

BrightLine Group is seeking a senior engineer with expertise in energy efficiency, renewable energy, distributed energy resources, and sustainability. The role emphasizes applying technical and analytical skills to solve hard problems in a growing consultancy.

Based in Boulder, CO; Madison, WI; Seattle, WA; or Toms River, NJ, the position offers a hybrid remote/in-office schedule, travel as needed, and opportunities for advancement while supporting utility programs.

Qualifications

• Energy audit and verification experience in residential and commercial buildings.
• Experience with energy efficiency consulting and utility demand-side programs.
• 5+ years of engineering experience with a relevant degree.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written, computer and oral communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Alignment with team values.

Responsibilities

• Research energy consumption and efficiency at multiple levels from end-use to grid.
• Conduct site visits to verify measure installation and functionality.
• Calculate energy savings using TRM-based and custom methods.
• Provide project management, client relations, and budgeting.
• Use energy performance modeling and building simulations.
• Support market studies and cost-effectiveness analyses.
• Oversee and train junior staff.
• Present findings in reports and presentations.
