Job summary

BrightLine Group, a woman-owned energy efficiency consulting firm, is seeking a full-time senior engineer to analyze energy projects and support utility programs from Boulder, CO. The role offers independence, advancement, and client-facing opportunities.

Responsibilities include site visits, energy savings calculations, project management, and communication of findings. Travel may be required; a valid driver’s license is needed, with potential out-of-state assignments.

Qualifications

• Energy audit and/or measurement & verification experience in residential and commercial buildings.
• Experience with energy efficiency consulting, utility-administered demand side management programs, renewable energy, and sustainability.
• Five or more years of professional work experience with a bachelors or masters degree in relevant civil, mechanical, architectural, environmental or electrical engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written, computer and oral communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Research energy consumption and energy efficiency at various levels from end-use equipment to grid-level impacts.
• Conduct site visits to verify measure installation and functionality.
• Calculate and verify electric and natural gas energy savings using TRM-based and custom savings algorithms.
• Provide project management including client relations and project execution and budgeting.
• Utilize engineering techniques such as energy performance modeling, building simulation software, on-site data observations, interviews and metering.
• Support market characterization studies and cost-effectiveness analysis through software tools and data collection that identify potential energy efficiency opportunities.
• Provide oversight, training, and quality control for junior-level staff.
• Communicate findings internally and externally through written reports and presentations.
