Weber Blackstone in Palatine, IL is seeking a hands-on Senior Mechanical Engineer focused on New Product Development to design, develop, and integrate mechanical and electromechanical systems for outdoor cooking products.

You will lead cross-functional teams, perform DFMEA and DVP&R, create 3D models in SolidWorks, generate drawings and MASM, validate designs through prototyping and testing, and ensure compliance with performance specs and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in a relevant field.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks for 3D modeling, drawings, and MASM.
• Knowledge of DFMEA, DVP&R, PPAP, Design for Manufacturing and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Lead NPD projects from concept to completion.
• Perform DFMEA, P-Diagrams, and DVP&R to validate designs.
• Create and refine 3D models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks; manage MASM.
• Support prototype creation, testing, and validation of designs.
• Ensure compliance with performance specifications and regulatory requirements.

This role is responsible for supporting all efforts related to the design, development, and integration of Mechanical and Electro-mechanical systems into our Outdoor Cooking products. In this role, you will work with a global cross-functional team to design and implement ideas using CAD models, drawings, cost estimates, prototyping, and testing products. This position will gather product requirements and translate them into actionable specifications.
