Responsibilities

• Quality Management System: Develop, implement, and maintain a company-wide Quality Management System (QMS) covering suppliers, contract manufacturers, and company-owned manufacturing facilities.
• Supplier Quality: Develop supplier qualification and approval processes, including quality-system assessments, capability reviews, audits, and first-article/product validation.
• Manufacturing Quality: Establish consistent manufacturing quality standards across company-owned plants and contract manufacturers.
• Product Quality & New Product Introduction: Partner with Engineering and Product Development to ensure quality and reliability requirements are incorporated into new products from the design stage.
• Product Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable safety, regulatory, certification, and company requirements in the markets where products are sold.
• Traceability: Ensure appropriate traceability of products and critical components to support effective investigation and containment of potential field issues.

Role Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Global Quality is responsible for managing both direct and indirect resources to develop, implement, and continuously improve the company’s global quality management system across suppliers, contract manufacturers, and company-owned manufacturing facilities. This position has end-to-end responsibility for product quality—from incoming materials and components through manufacturing, finished goods, and distribution. The Director of Global Quality will establish quality standards, ensure consistent execution across the supply base and manufacturing network, drive root-cause corrective action, and use field and customer data to continuously improve product quality and reliability. The Director will work closely with Engineering, Product Development, Sourcing, Operations, Customer Service, and suppliers to ensure products meet company specifications, regulatory requirements, safety standards, and customer expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Quality Management System
• Develop, implement, and maintain a company-wide Quality Management System (QMS) covering suppliers, contract manufacturers, and company-owned manufacturing facilities.
• Develop a culture in which quality is built into products and processes rather than relying primarily on final inspection.
• Grow a culture of continuous improvement through implementation of lean practices and creating an environment where all associates are engaged in the elimination of waste.
• Supplier Quality
• Develop supplier qualification and approval processes, including quality-system assessments, capability reviews, audits, and first-article/product validation.
• Lead resolution of significant supplier quality issues.
• Manufacturing Quality
• Establish consistent manufacturing quality standards across company-owned plants and contract manufacturers.
• Ensure manufacturing processes have appropriate process controls, work instructions, inspection standards, test procedures, control plans, and quality records.
• Establish clear escalation procedures for significant quality issues, including containment, stop-ship, stop-production, and product disposition when appropriate.
• Product Quality & New Product Introduction:
• Partner with Engineering and Product Development to ensure quality and reliability requirements are incorporated into new products from the design stage.
• Establish quality plans for new-product launches.
• Ensure critical-to-quality characteristics are clearly identified and controlled throughout the supply chain and manufacturing process.
• Product Safety & Regulatory Compliance
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety, regulatory, certification, and company requirements in the markets where products are sold.
• Ensure appropriate traceability of products and critical components to support effective investigation and containment of potential field issues.
