Job summary

Weber Blackstone is seeking an Engineer II in Palatine, IL for a hands-on Mechanical Engineer role focused on New Product Development. You will design and develop mechanical and electro-mechanical systems for outdoor cooking products using CAD models, drawings, cost estimates, prototyping, and testing.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3–5 years’ related experience, with proficiency in SolidWorks and DFMEA, DVP&R, PPAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
• 3–5 years of experience in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Experience with regulatory and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop solutions via DFMEA, PD diagrams, and DVP&R.
• Create and refine CAD models, drawings, and BOMs in SolidWorks.
• Support prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical and electromechanical systems.
• Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to meet specifications.
• Perform basic IP searches and contribute to cost reduction and productivity projects.

This role is responsible for supporting all efforts related to the design and development of Mechanical and Electro-mechanical systems into our Outdoor Cooking products. In this role, you will work with a cross-functional team to design and implement ideas using CAD models, drawings, cost estimates, prototyping, and testing products. This position will provide engineering support for assigned product development projects.
