Job summary

Weber Blackstone in Palatine, IL seeks a hands-on Mechanical Designer for new product development. You will design mechanical/electromechanical components, create CAD models and drawings, and validate concepts through prototyping and testing.

The role requires collaboration across Product, Quality, Manufacturing, and Suppliers, plus attention to regulatory and safety requirements. Hybrid in-office days are expected at the Palatine campus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering, manufacturing, or equivalent technical field.
• 3–5 years of experience in a relevant mechanical design role.
• Proficient in SolidWorks with 3D modeling, drawings, and tolerancing.

Responsibilities

• Create and refine design solutions using CAD (SolidWorks).
• Produce complex models and drawings per guidelines and standards.
• Ensure designs meet performance specs and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with Product, Quality, Manufacturing and Suppliers.
• Support prototype creation, testing, and iterative learning.
• Perform basic IP searches and maintain documentation.

This role is responsible for supporting all efforts related to the design of Mechanical and Electro-mechanical systems into our Outdoor Cooking products. In this role, you will work with a cross-functional team to design ideas using CAD models, drawings, cost estimates, prototyping, and testing products. This position will provide engineering design support for assigned product development projects.
