Job summary

Saipem, a global leader in engineering and construction for the energy and infrastructure sectors, seeks an Engine Room Supervisor to lead the engine room on a vessel powered by main propulsion machinery 3,000 kW or more. You will report to the Chief Engineer and supervise the engine department to ensure safe, compliant operation according to IMO, class, flag state and company policies.

The role requires STCW and offshore experience, with at least 3 years as Officer in Charge of Engineering

Qualifications

• STCW certificates and CoC in Reg. III/2 with endorsement.
• Completion of Training Matrix certifications.
• MOU stability course (where applicable).
• Minimum 3 years as Officer in Charge of Engineering Watch.
• At least 1 year offshore experience unless previously covered at rank.

Responsibilities

• Report to Chief Engineer and ensure workspace activities comply with Company policies and industry standards.
• Implement AMOS to survey, test and maintain ship machinery and safety systems.
• Supervise bunkering and offloading of fuel, coordinating resources and spares with the Chief Engineer.
• Monitor engine room operations and report unsafe acts or defects affecting safety and environment.
• Ensure permit-to-work and isolation procedures are understood and followed.
• Train duty crew, issue hand-over reports, and inform the Chief Engineer.

Education

STCW required certificates, National CoC Reg. III/2 and endorsement

MOU stability course (where applicable)

Completion of all training and certifications as described in the Training Matrix
