Job summary

Addx Corporation in Martinsburg, WV, seeks a Top-Level Engine Mariner SME to support the U.S. Coast Guard’s NMC Mariner Credentialing Program.

You will evaluate mariner training curricula, instructor qualifications, and course approvals, drafting technical responses per 46 CFR Parts 10–12 and NVICs, MSM Volume III, and related policies. As a senior SME, you will apply propulsion expertise to assess course content and ensure compliance, coordinating with NMC, COR, and government SMEs while

Qualifications

• Must hold MMC with Chief Engineer or First Assistant Engineer endorsement.
• Minimum 5 years sailing experience with qualifying credential.
• Excellent written communication for clear technical correspondence.
• Experience with 46 CFR Parts 10–12, NVIC 01-26, MSM Volume III preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review curricula, training sites, and instructor credentials against regulations.
• Draft clear recommendation letters addressing government reviews.
• Manage assigned caseload to meet monthly volume and quality standards.
• Stay current on regulatory changes and apply updates consistently.
• Coordinate with NMC Course Approval team, COR, and government SMEs as needed.
• Evaluate engine-department courses for SME review queue throughput (≥20 per month).
• Apply propulsion experience to assess course content and assessments.
