Job summary
CSEngineering seeks a Top-Level Engine Mariner SME to support a federal maritime training course approval mission. You will evaluate engine and marine engineering curricula, sites, and instructors against federal standards.
Ideal candidates hold MMC as Chief Engineer/First Assistant and have 5+ years sailing experience with propulsion modes; strong English communication is required. A comprehensive benefits package accompanies this role.
Qualifications
- MMC endorsed as Chief Engineer or First Assistant Engineer for unlimited horsepower.
- Minimum 5 years sailing experience on qualifying credential.
- Experience with propulsion modes preferred but not required.
- Strong oral and written communication in English.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate engine and marine engineering curricula, sites, and instructors.
- Assess course requests against 46 CFR Parts 10, 11, 12 and policies.
- Apply NVIC 01-26, Marine Safety Manual Volume III, NVICs, MMS docs.
- Develop technical recommendations for course approval and responses.
- Maintain minimum course-approval volume of 20 courses/month.
- Attend 2-week training at federal credentialing center and onsite trainings.
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable maritime laws and procedures.
