Job summary

Generac is seeking a Staff Engine Design Engineer - Architect to advance internal combustion engine design using Creo, Python, and advanced calculation tools. The role focuses on optimizing engine performance and reliability across gaseous fueled applications.

You will lead design reviews, assess performance and emissions, and apply Matlab/Simulink or Python scripting for predictive modeling while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust engine solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on engine and engine component design experience.
• Experience in powertrain design and analysis using CREO or equivalent.
• Hands-on FEA experience applied to engine design.
• Broad experience in IC engine design using CREO or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design engine systems and components using design reviews, calculations, problem solving and simulation input.
• Evaluate engine and systems designs for performance and emissions.
• Conduct system analysis to optimize peak and reliability performance.
• Interpret testing results and collaborate with cross-functional teams to guide development.
• Document objectives, methods and results using standardized reporting formats.
• Apply data analysis techniques, including Matlab/Simulink or Python scripting, for predictive modeling.
• Stay informed on technologies and trends to support continuous improvement.
