Job summary

Stellantisfinancialservices seeks an Engine Performance Simulation Engineer to analyze and optimize internal combustion engine performance. The role requires hands-on experience with dyno testing or simulation and a strong background in 1D engine modeling, heat transfer, and fuel economy improvements.

You will apply GT‑Suite, Wave, and AVL Boost to develop accurate models and initiate calibration strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Engineering with ABET accreditation or equivalent is required.
• 7+ years applying 1D CFD tools to IC engine combustion simulation and optimization.
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
• Strong background in engine performance data, fluid flow, heat transfer, and numerical methods.

Responsibilities

• Air path model development and simulation.
• Turbocharger system modeling.
• 1D core engine performance modeling and development.
• Cold and Hot end lines.
• Sensor locations and catalyst light-off strategies.
• Fuel map generation and combustion system model development.
• Control strategies logics and real-time model development for virtual control.
• Identify gaps in engine modeling methodologies and develop improvement plans.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and lead innovation initiatives.
• Follow up team progress and participate in technical reviews.
