Job summary

Willdan Performance Engineering in Southern California seeks a Senior Construction Manager to oversee several mid-sized energy retrofit projects. You will lead field operations, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure safety and quality standards while aligning with project schedules and budgets.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management and 4–6 years of related experience, with strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills to guide teams

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
4-6 years total professional experience in field operations and construction means/methods.
Knowledge of construction process; ESCO design/commissioning preferred.
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in commercial/institutional facilities.
Ability to lead, make judgements balancing cost, schedule, and quality.

Responsibilities

Provide input during design phase for cost and constructability.
Coordinate bid process including pre-bid walkthrough.
Manage Subcontract administration and submittal process.
Schedule, supervise, and coordinate Subcontractor activities and meetings.
Ensure progress meets contract completion date and maintain detailed schedules.
Establish quality control and safety practices; liaise between subs and engineers.
Provide staff mentorship and manage cost control/forecasting.
