Job summary

Willdan Performance Engineering seeks a Senior Construction Manager to oversee multiple energy retrofit projects in Southern California. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management and 4–6 years in field operations and construction methods.

You will lead subcontract administration, coordinate bid processes, manage schedules, ensure design and construction compliance, and mentor staff. Travel and a valid license are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
• 4–6 years total professional experience in field operations and construction means/methods.
• Knowledge of the ESCO design and commissioning process is preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in commercial/institutional facilities is preferred.
• Ability to lead others in construction and manage schedule, budget and quality issues.
• OSHA 30 Certification is a plus.
• Travel is required for this role.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Provide input on cost and constructability during the design phase.
• Coordinate the bid process and pre-bid walkthrough.
• Oversee Subcontract administration and Subcontract Agreement preparation.
• Coordinate submittal process for project materials and work.
• Schedule, supervise, and coordinate Subcontractor activities and meetings.
• Ensure construction progresses on schedule and update 3-week/overall schedules.
• Ensure adherence to construction specs and liaise between subs and engineers.
• Mentor project staff and ensure safety practices.
• Manage project cost control and provide monthly cost vs. budget reports.
• Maintain Construction Management Software per company guidelines.
